Automating Machine Learning for Predicting Risk of Alzheimer’s Disease

Jason Moore, PhD, Chair of Department of Computational Biomedicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center

Dr. Moore completed a Ph.D. in Human Genetics and an M.A. in Statistics at the University of Michigan. In 1999 he went to Vanderbilt University where he held an Ingram Professorship and served as founding Director of the Advanced Computing Center for Research and Education. He then went to the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College in 2004 where he held the Third Century Professorship and served as founding Director of the Institute for Quantitative Biomedical Sciences. In 2015, he joined Penn Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania as the founding Director of the Institute for Biomedical Informatics and Senior Associate Dean for Informatics. He joined Cedars-Sinai in 2021 as the founding Chair of the Department of Computational Biomedicine. His research on artificial intelligence methods for the analysis of biomedical data has been continuously funded the NIH for more than 20 years. He is an elected fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics, the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics, the American Statistical Association, the International Statistics Institute, and the American Association for Advancement of Science. He is Editor-in-Chief of the open-access journal BioData Mining.
