II.  Specific Aims Workshop (Three-Part Training)

• The 3-session online training will include: • Friday, October 3, 2025 at 12-1pm: Instruction on how to prepare a specific aims page, and an overview of the importance of identifying a funding mechanism, engaging a mentor, and contacting a project officer. This session will be recorded. • Between October 13 and November 14, 2025: Two 2-hour follow-up sessions of 3–4 investigators with a PIKO or Ola HAWAII facilitator in which you get feedback on your evolving Specific Aims page. 
• Our aim is to offer these sessions at times that work for you, your group members, and your group facilitator. Priority for the Specific Aims Workshop will be given to investigators who: • Are preparing to apply for PIKO’s GUMSHOE advanced grant writing course in Spring 2026 • Are faculty with the University of Hawai‘i, Hawai‘i Pacific University, or Chaminade University of Honolulu or clinicians working in Hawai‘i • Are focusing on clinical and translational research projects.
