RECOVER — Long Covid Study

The RECOVER Initiative is a NIH sponsored multi-center cohort study recruiting 17,680 participants nationally to understand PASC (Post-acute sequelae of SARS-Cov-2), syndrome more commonly called ‘Long COVID’ disease. Long COVID refers to a wide range of new, returning, or ongoing health problems such as fatigue, ‘brain fog’, shortness of breath, and sleep problems that occur or persist four or more weeks after initial infection with the COVID virus. The University of Hawaii is participating in RECOVER as part of the Clinical and Translational Research Network of which PIKO is now a part. PIKO’s participation in RECOVER allows our local population including our Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander communities to be represented in this national study.
